KNOWLEDGE MOBILIZATION

Collaborative Advocacy & Partnered Education

CAPE Learning is an initiative begun by Dr. Stella Ng and Dr. Nicole Woods, Director, The Institute for Education Research (TIER), University Health Network, alongside a large team of collaborators and partners. Using foundational concepts of critical reflection, co-creation, and cognitive integration, the team collaborates with personal support workers (PSWs) in advocacy and the creation of a multitude of education ventures. All courses and resources are free and accessible through the platform. To learn more about what CAPE is about (including definitions of the foundational concepts), access their website here.

Teaching for Transformation

Teaching for Transformation (TforT) is jointly offered by the Centre for Advancing Collaborative Healthcare & Education (CACHE) and the Centre for Faculty Development. It was inspired by a growing need in health professions education and practice to prepare clinicians for a multitude of complex social roles. For example, collaboration, advocacy, and systems navigation must be performed within a complex health care system that aims to support compassionate, equitable, and person-centered care orientations, while also managing limited resources, quality, safety, and accountability. Aligned with these needs, TforT brings together educators interested in the theory and practice of transformative education and critical pedagogies. TforT aims to promote and provide the development of critically reflective/reflexive individuals in relation to their educational roles in health care. To learn more about TforT's suite of educational offerings, including freely accessible Online Supplements for Education, custom consultations and programming, and conference, access the website here.
